Content focused and with digital marketing experience

The Communications manager will develop a strategic communications plan for the organization, and s/he will lead and participate in the execution of that plan for internal and external efforts. This person will serve as the main point of contact for media and PR partners to build and foster relationships proactively and reactively to position Virology Education and its sister companies as an integral educator in healthcare globally, aiming to position the company as a thought leader in each respective areas of expertise (HIV, Hepatitis, Emerging viruses, Tuberculosis, Oncology and more).

You will work with the design and project management teams to manage the global marketing communications initiatives including sales collateral, tradeshows, promotional campaigns, social media site presence, website creation & updates, public relations, PowerPoint based sales presentations, and email automation. Moreover, you will be responsible for creating, driving and executing all digital strategies. You will analyze site traffic for trends, use patterns to identify and quantify customer/visitor behavior and make recommendations to improve user experience and maximize conversion rates by manipulating layout, content, page flow, ad copy, etc. To succeed, you have the ability to identify and set appropriate measurement goals, you are able to create effective digital marketing campaigns, and measure them against your goals, ultimately, setting the benchmark for all future initiatives.

You have excellent time management and related organizational skills, including appropriate sense of urgency, a proactive approach, and a suitable ability to anticipate and manage project lifecycle events, issues and obstacles. You are able to manage several projects simultaneously and autonomously, as well as prioritize as necessary. Must be comfortable spearheading and managing projects autonomously.

The ability to travel 10% of the time.


  • Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Prior marketing communications experience in a healthcare/ scientific/ academic setting.
  • Expertise within publications-related experience in the pharmaceutical industry is an advantage.
  • Proven track record of writing, preparing and editing effective materials across a variety of communication channels.
  • Experience with utilizing a broad range of digital marketing techniques; Google analytics, SEO, SEM.
  • Ability to work in teams and interface in a dynamic environment across corporate functions.
  • Prior experience managing consultants and vendors is desired.
  • Experience creating targeted content that generates measurable ROI.
  • Reviewing field-based promotional and educational materials for scientific accuracy.
  • Fluent/ near native English is a must, other languages a plus.

Required Technical Skills

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in InDesign (illustrator and photoshop a plus)
  • Strong grasp with marketing automation tools (MailChimp, Send Grid, Hubspot, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and Website infrastructure as well as WordPress
